Barbarous are a Death Metal band from Oakland, California forming in early 2024. Founding guitarist Codie Jones and Thomas Belifiore immediately began writing material then recruited Zach Jakes on bass and Travis Zupo on drums.  In April 2024 vocalist Travis LaBerge joined Barbarous and the band embarked on recording the demo "Coup de Grâce" which was released September 6th 2024. The band then signed to Creator-Destructor Records.

Shortly after the release of "Coup de Grâce" guitarist Codie Jones left the band and guitarist/vocalist Zachary Weed joined the band. Barbarous began playing live shows in September 2024 and has since played throughout the California East Bay and North Bay Areas.

Early 2025 brought the band back into the studio to record their debut full length LP which is set to release late summer 2025 through Creator-Destructor Records. Barbarous has used the phrase "Barbaric Death Metal" to describe their brand of Death Metal. The bands heavy riffs, pounding drums and ferocious vocals have caught the attention of listeners and industry professionals alike.
